In just one episode to include background story of (our future best boy) Cliff, the relationship of Eris and Rudy (especially we know what happeded at the end of S1), the discrimination towards demons, political conflicts of Millis, another blessed child...etc. Those are the details that every viewers can enjoy no matter you're LN or anime original viewers.

2022-03-16 00:57:28 +0000 UTCSo it seems there are a lot of things that are subtly told in the story. There is a lot of demon discrimination in Millis. That's what the signs were about. Also in the beginning they are telling the story of Cliff. He is the adopted child of the pope. But he is actually the blood related grandson of the pope. A rival faction killed his parents and he became an orphan then was found and adopted by the pope. Also, I think the note that fell on the floor when Eris was beating Cliff's ass might be the one that Paul wrote. The thing is that you can see how experienced of an adventurer Eris is. Like her comment about the forest and how late in the day it would be etc. You know these are all lessons she has learned through Ruijerd and Rudeus. It's not simply that Cliff is annoying. It's that he has decent skill, a big ego, and no experience. That boy would not have survive the trip through the demon continent. This episode really shows all of the small things that Rudy did or kept track of for the party and how much Eris depends on him. Like when she asked if Cliff kept track of their entrance to the forest. Rudy would do stuff like that. The 'Lady Knight' is Zenith's sister. So, Rudy's Aunt. And those assassins were Cliff's instructors. Yeah that was supposed to be Rudy, and funny story that does kinda look like him later in his late teens early 20's. That's who cliff imagines Rudy to be. The tutors were assassins, they were trying to kill the kid. It's not royalty vs the church it's 2 different factions within the Milis faith fighting each other, and the girl was on the side opposing the pope.

The reason he was all stuck up is that he was always told of how bright he was, that he was a genius when it came to magic, better than many. So he grew up thinking he was unique. I'm really looking forward season two. If the pace keeps the same, I believe 24 chapters will be just barely enough to get to "Turning Point 3" and the consequences of said turning point. Cant say more without getting to spoilery territory, but just enough to get you hyped for it :)
