He wasn't breaking them to begin with, since deities are allowed to use either A: inherent traits that are part of their very existence (i.e Goddesses of Beauty can "use" Charm, which is just them being hot af so everyone becomes their slaves, the purple/pink thingie is just visual effect for viewer convenience on who is Charmed) or B: using those Viewing Mirror abilities which work akin to TV (the downside is that any deity using a Mirror like that to view shit, has the contents available to any other deity viewing their TV screens at the same time as well, as long as they switch to that channel to watch what other deities are viewing w/ their mirror thingies), because their only point in coming down to Gekai is entertainment to begin with, so it doesn't go against this because of the con + it only being useful for looking at shit from afar

Anti-Cheat be like "no cheese exploits w/ Skills that use Emotions to buff stats, so we will be auto-banning the usage of Charms to boost the stats by forcing emotions to go to 10000%"

Very badass. Hard work pays off

Something i want to point out and explain a bit more in detail is how makoto self-destructed and casting a spell while fighting. The anime only explains it a bit in S1 when Ryu is fighting that Goliath Monster, but i find that kinda lacking. When casting a spell, the user has to speak the incantation and gather the right amount of magic inside their body. This is so difficult to control that most spellcaster need to stand still and focus completely on casting the spell. Because if something went wrong during the casting, magical discharge happens. When magical discharge occurs the mana inside your body goes out of control and basically explodes. This usually leads to very severe injuries (getting a limb blown off or dying is pretty common) When Mikoto hugged the white haired Amazone she intentionelly cast the spell wrongly. Thats what she meant by suprising the enemy. No one in their right mind would risk their life just to harm a nearby opponent. Now adding to that concurrent casting (casting while fighting) is extremly difficult. The chance of something going wrong while attacking/defending/dogging and trying to cast a spell, is pretty high. Thats why people who use it, are usually a lot stronger than people who cant. In S1 when Ryu did her concurrent casting against the Goliath, Mikoto saw that and wanted to be able to do it to. During the War Game we see Mikoto running through the enemy base, deflecting arrows and casting her spell. What the anime doesnt show or explain to you, is that she trained herself to be able to do concurrent casting. Which is pretty badass imo

About what Hermes said regarding Zeus - Some info that was skipped in the anime, but was introduced in Volume 6 of the light novel is the "Grand Quest." In summary, long ago 3 great beasts tore themselves from the shackles of the labyrinth and roamed the world reaping destruction. Many years into the future, the Zeus familia, at that point the greatest power in Orario, sets out to conquer the 3 beasts and save the world from their terror. On their quest, the Zeus familia was unfortunately annihilated by the most powerful of these 3 beasts, The Black Dragon. The ultimate goal of all adventurers is not just to fully explore the labyrinth, but also to succeed where Zeus failed and slay the Black Dragon.

You aren't seeing much Aiz because the Loki familia is currently doing other things that you can read about in the spin-off Sword Oratoria

I'm glad it helped, I'm always hesitant to post stuff from the novels, it's hard to judge what other people will consider a spoiler or not, so I always try to give a statement of hey this info is coming from the novels, so you have a clear warning in case you don't want to read further.

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ can’t wait!

JoeFreshest

I didn’t think, at the time, that it was like an actual charming ability. I thought it was just saying she was charming. I would have to go back and watch.

JoeFreshest

I second that. Good explanation.

the arcs in S3 is for me where the story picks up in quality and it just picks up from there

Sven Hegenbart

We know about Bells skill last season as Freya was also unable to charm him and what started her obsession with him.

Sven Hegenbart

She smacked Haruhime with the flat part of the axe, not an edge. She was only hitting her to knock her out, not kill. Also a little clarification from the novels on the nature of gods and goddesses. Gods and Goddesses in this world are as fragile as base humans. They can grant people the ability to level up through their divine gifts, but can't take advantage of it themselves. Their divinity is locked when they descend from heaven and using it is criminally punished by them being forced back to heaven, never able to return. This is why, If you go back to the war game episodes, Hermes asks for permission to use his divine power to broadcast the war game magically across the city, so he wasn't breaking those laws. Falling from the height of the tower inflicted enough damage to Ishtar's mortal body to kill her, and she had to invoke her divinity to stop herself from dying. She was recalled to heaven for breaking the divine laws.
