Agreed. At least in the Misfit of Demon Academy there was a reason for the power of individuals to drop. 1000 years of forced peace would tend to make any civilization complacent. Here there isn't even that reasoning. Still a funny show though.

There have been periods of human history where the world regressed and lost technology. Anime like this are just drawing on examples from our real world and exaggerating them for story and plot.
