Next Freshest Exclusive Romance/Romcom Anime

What should be the next Freshest Exclusive Romance/Romcom anime?

There will no longer be a second poll for Freshest Patrons.
Only Freshest Patrons can vote on this poll. YOU get the final say!

I didn't include "I Want to Eat Your Pancreas" because I'll be doing a reaction regardless.

Quintessential show was a drop for me after a few episodes when it aired. Not my cup of tea :shrugs:

Kot Bajun

Kind of embraced to say that I haven't watched Clannad myself, but at the time people were saying it was similar to " Air " and oh boy did that show brought me to tears. 😢

Kot Bajun

Okay im very okay with Quintessential Quintuplets.

ShroomPK

I mean, the fact tjat there's more than Clannad got me trippin.

Nancchi

That's ok, they will eventually. One of the main reason I watch these exclusives weekly in pairs is so we can get through series faster.

To understand monogatari it is necessary to put aside some prejudices and actually invest time to understand and analyze the dialogue, even the fanservice in the series has a reason whenever it appears (except maybe for a certain episode in nise where, well, shit happens). It is quite easy to feel lost during each episode if you don't pay attention especially when you are watching it for the first time. In fact, there are entire episodes where the characters are in one single place just talking and nothing more. While I would like to see the reactions, I don't know if now is a good time for him to watch it. Regarding the watch order, it isn't really a problem since there' s kind of a consensus in the community that first timers just need to follow the airing order, and the only real issue is where to place Kizu, for example my personal choice was to watch kizu between owari and koyomi, but nothing of this really matters right now cause he’s polling just bake haha.

We will eventually make it to Clannad… eventually! And then watch Wotakoi afterwards to help recover lol.

Quintuplets by a huge margin, huh? I guess it's understandable considering it's the most recent on this list. But it's too bad the older shows don't get as much love anymore.

statixFEAR

Lol this will show my age but I don't consider Clannad old. I was graduating college when it came out. But I guess it is time sure does fly.....

Untolddead Writing Webnovels

I don’t dislike old anime’s but Clannad ain’t really my cup of tea tbh.

I agree for people who are not used to dialogue heavy anime, It can be hard to keep up with everything that's going on, As much as I love monogatari i think it would be a hard anime for him to react to, seeing as it something you need to keep all your attention to and since he talks a lot in his reactions ( nothing wrong with that) he could miss important information and get lost easily. Watch order will also be important if it wins too seeing as the debate of chorological or release date watch order can effect the experience for some people.

I watched the series for like three times(?) and also read the LN. I have to say the author Nisio Isin is really amazing (This guy even make his pen name a palindrome...). Monogatari series is really dialogue-heavy. It includes many homonyms and metaphors that may cause difficulties in understanding what the story is really talking about at the moment, the episodes can be full of random jokes, flashbacks, shit talks and some panty shots. Not to mention the cut scene of the LN scripts in every episodes may make people crazy. I didn't watch the series with eng subs so I am not sure about the sub quality but I think the show is difficult to understand just by following the subs. I won't say the show suits everyone, but it is a good show that requires certain experiences. The more you understand the hidden parts the more you can enjoy. One interesting thing is after I finished the show the first time, I found my japanese listening is actually getting better, I can understand more homonyms jokes in other shows lol. If monogatari didn't win the poll I guess I will just rewatch the show again on my own. Several shows in the poll are amazing like clannad and plastic memories. It's a tough decision.

chromelok

Quintuplets and Wotakoi let's gooo!

Mikhail

Yeah, it's definitely dialogue-heavy. Whether that's a good or bad thing I can't really say since I've not watched enough to really form an opinion but sometimes these dialogue-heavy shows end up having the characters talk a lot without really saying anything. I'm going to assume Monogatari is different just because of the sheer size of the fanbase around it.

Pyraph

Some times I feel like people choose stuff that they like and not things that will have interesting reactions... Well my old animes will never get on the polls so I'll just let others decide.

Untolddead Writing Webnovels

I hope monogatari wins but It be hell to Edit

Aco2Draco

Wow, surprised Quintuplets is doing so well. I'm not complaining though.

Shane Dunlop

People say it’s very dialogue heavy.

JoeFreshest

In time I’m sure it will win and then I can experience it.

JoeFreshest

I have a hard time watching Monogatari it feels so weird to me, it's really surreal and feels odd how there weren't really any background characters or anything and a lot of conversations were super random or seemingly made no sense. The show kinda made everything feel fake or like a dream. idk. I need to watch more to understand what people get out of it.

Pyraph

Honestly surprised it isn’t winning at the time of my comment

JoeFreshest

I voted for it too 😉

JoeFreshest

where my monogatari people at

Artiix

Saskatchatoon24

vader281
