2022-04-26 18:45:40 +0000 UTCIt took me 2nd time re reading the novel to get who the hell is that freckle guy and what significance he played in the story. Some things are too subtle. What else. Got to agree on the part of anime dropping the ball to convey how Myne is really busy, but mostly because making of the cards, reversi, etc. was mostly narrowed down to the end credits scenes and one-two shot of Ferdinand approving their sale in the episodes. Otherwise conveying her loneliness was top notch in anime. Again, loved to see Fran scolding Gil about appropriate boundaries between a master and her servants ( for various reasons which anime won’t cover most likely ). Ferdinand chewing Damuel out was a nice addition . I believe that was actually in the post epilogue bonus story. But yeah, I kind of want to pity Damuel,but he’s an”idiot” per Ferdinand for not really understanding what it means to be a guard knight. Him being demoted to apprentice status is befitting his current flaws. Otherwise, Damuel is the ultimate underdog knight of the story and I love him. :3

However, I would like to think he has some emotion still left in him lol (Like the time he got angry and roasted the green-haired knight). Also, I don't like that green-haired freckle guy as well. I can't tell if he's under the High Priest or just is neutral on Myne. At least he doesn't seem to antagonize her as much as the blue robe.

I've seen enough anime to know that when someone like the Head Priest has that look on their face when they say "more people will be going with you", it's their superior so they can't exactly say no. The dude being eccentric just confirmed it to me, since as per hundreds of animes I've seen, you know that the top dude is always the most weirdo-like person in the locale, and his actions so far don't seem to make me change my mind he's the Archduke or w/e of this city. Especially since Karstedt is there, so he's presumably acting as the bodyguard of the Lord in this instance, presumably?

Myne's workload is *extreme* Ferdinand has been running the church (which the ehrenfest is just the central cathedral) essentially on his own. As well as undisclosed dutchy and knightly business. Myne has been able to actually share in his workload. In addition to her studying and memorising, learning instruments, managing several businesses.

She hummed music from anime and he wrote it down into a song fitting the herspeil (which is really quite incredible in terms of musical prowess) so they are songs that have no likeness in this world

2022-04-26 02:48:23 +0000 UTCThe editing in this season is so much better then the previous ones! They are using more dynamic shots and the imagery for showing how lonely she is was great. In fact it's one of the first times that I felt the animation truly added to the story.
