Mixed feelings on this, well the fight scenes where good they lack the charm and aren't as memorable as the original series. The nevermore(big bird) fight is one of my favourite fights in anime, might be just nostalgia. But here its just ok, I think the original music and pacing made the scene a lot better even with the limited animation style. Also even thought season 1 is short that last ep blazed through most of the season to get to the end which felt very jarring.

It has lower overall animation quality, but it had a charm and tone that this anime does not have. I do love how this expands on things like Weiss's family and Ruby's father. But it also skips some of the OG's great moments/fights. I think everyone need to watch both now.

Jaune being Joan of Arc, Nora being Thor, Pyhrra being Achilles, and Ren being Mulan. Professor Ozpin is Oz from Wizard of Oz, and Glynda is the Goodwitch from WoO. As time goes on I, or the original RWBY fandom, will tell. Don’t worry though, these aren’t spoilers but just what Monty did to make the characters more special in a way.

Yang is supposed to represent Goldilocks which is why she’s yellow. Ruby is Red Riding Hood which is why she’s red. And Blake is a representation of Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”. That’s why she loves reading and the person she was with during the train raid (Adam Taurus) represents the Beast.

The original is great, even though I don’t really like the fighting choreography ever since the one who created it passed away. Monty was so amazing when it came to stuff like that. Watch the trailers (RWBY Red Trailer, Black trailer, White trailer, and Yellow trailer) and you’ll see what I mean. Also, shout out to the RWBY fans ❤️

WOuld be cool if you do a side by side comparison by watching both My favorite char is Weiss Schnee. most dislike char in vol 1 but for me also best written char over all volumes ( 8 so far) Ruby jap seiju also voices Vasha from Tanja of the Evil maybe thats the reason you know her

There two others who got their voices changed biggest mistery will be Glyndas voice as she left the comapny after an argument and her character just didnt appear with voice lines after that
