The other city has permanent shop unlike this city only have market like once a week. And if you think it through, being able to travel by your own using teleport (Field Walk in their words) can also be very beneficial. That means you can visit other cities which pay more for your products and that only cost you MPs (no need to pay those silver coins for travel). For example if this city has less tree monsters that results in less drop of those sticks, maybe you can sell it with higher price.

The MC gained the Mage class by meeting the prerequisite of repeatedly completely draining his MP. They are compressing a bunch of stuff into less time here, like the spell montages. He spent a lot of time testing all the spells, and they don't do one shot kills so he had to optimize how to cast them effectively in combat.
