Their respective novels even specifically reference it. The web site they were written on (and this is a bit reductive) was essentialy a home for Zero no Tsukaima fanfic. If anyone is interested in why modern isekais are the way they are (and yes I know about the wizard of Oz and vision of escaflowne) the place to start is ZnT. That's where the tropes were pulled from.
