One piece and steins gate are my favorite animes.

West00

I want to start reading Bookworm after we catch up on Kumo Desu. Also thinking of watching Bookworm soon too. Since we have a new season next year.

JoeFreshest

I feel like its still too early for both Worlds Finest Assassin and Faraway Paladin. Could be good, could be mid. Just don't know yet.

JoeFreshest

It has to be either Overlord or Ascendance of a Bookworm for me. Bookworm brought me into LNs, after watching the first 2 Seasons. I even got myself a membership from j-novel.club, because i need my 2 new chapters every week^^ Overlord because the power elements are heavily inspired by DnDs combat system. And i love everything related to DnD

Derper Octinger

I think multiple rewatches is a great metric for making an anime list.

TitanMachine

Yo I love FMA and it biased me to the point that I can't stick with FMA Brotherhood. It is technically on my catch up list, but I don't see it ever rising to the top unless someone in my life begs me to watch it with them. Everyone says its fire, and I believe them, but that's how it is.

TitanMachine

Oh snap, I have 'borrowed from a friend' the light novels but have not read them yet. Sounds like they are moving to the top of my reading list. As an anime only of Overlord, I was stoked that the spells and creatures are strait ripped from D&D

TitanMachine

Re:Zero and Demon Slayer are the two that I have re-watched the most. Older stuff I like: Death Note, High School of the Dead (I love zombie apocalypse content), SAO was the first isekai for me and at the time I really enjoyed it, but not something I rewatch. Konosuba for my comedy title, now my claim to Isekai Trash is complete. I enjoy cute wholesome slice of life, but none of their titles stick with me for long enough to say one is on may favorite list. Akira is on my list as a must see influential anime film. This season has 3 upper tier isekai: S tier Mushoku Tensei, A tier World Finest Assassin, and AorB tier Far Away Paladin (still early) so fall is banging for me.

TitanMachine

Couldn’t agree more there’s so many good anime out there that just don’t get new seasons and sometimes when they do they tend to be either really good or severely underwhelming very rare they end up being in between

Ashley Wakefield

FMA Brotherhood is good, and I really love its plot overall since it follows the manga. The first FMA anime had about half the material to work on and went its own direction. It spent a lot of that time developing characters that FMA Brotherhood didn't have the time to do because it had more plot and more characters. I honestly love both, but some of the most emotionally impactful moments in manga for me happened in the first FMA anime.

Ex Caseus Fortis

First season of FMAB was straight Heat though

JoeFreshest

I honestly don’t remember FMA it’s been like a decade and a half since I first watched it.

JoeFreshest

I saw fumoffu fumoffo when I was in middle school like mid to late 2000s and I remembered liking it. I think I saw FMP too. Honestly so long ago I don’t remember. Horimiya was nice but for my romcom series it’s a close tie for second with Oregairu behind Kaguya Sama my number 1 romcom

JoeFreshest

Those ain’t that bad. I watched FMAB with a friend and it kind of ruined my experience I’ll have to watch it again, but I love Re:Zero and Kaguya.

JoeFreshest

Yeah I’m only 1 LN deep but I’m thinking about reading No Game No Life unless that’s just a manga. I’m sure I could think of some others though.

JoeFreshest

I love it when an anime continues to get better with every arc. Unfortunately some potential bangers just never do.

JoeFreshest

I am a bit biased by nostalgia, but the original FMA (not FMA Brotherhood) is probably my favorite anime. While the overall plot is worse because it was essentially created half way through the manga's run, the amount of character focus it has is off the charts. When the emotional parts of the story hit, they hit hard. They also hit home hard on PTSD, with multiple soldiers trying to cope with what they did in the war with Ishbal.

Ex Caseus Fortis

Literally same

JoeFreshest

That's tuff to answer. In the early 2000's, Big O, was what got me into anime it's come a long way since then. My favorite romance is between Horimiya and We Never Learn. My favorite action goes to: Kill la Kill. I like a lot of Isekai, Slime is my favorite. But i think that Shield Hero has the better anime of the two. slice-of-life goes to: Kobayshi's Dragon Maid. And my old-school favorite is: Full Metal Panic. And it's spin-off: Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu. Fumoffu is like how Slime Diaries is to Tensura. Same characters, just slice-of-life for 12 episodes.

OhDatBrownie

Devil is a Part-timer is the first Anime I watched that got me hooked on anime, and Shield Hero was the next one I watched, and that show got me hooked on going after light novels and manga to see what happens after the anime shows.

vardic d

I’m fully caught up to the manga of it but the anime really does it justice especially in the second season plus it’s already been announced we will be getting season 3 and all I will say is that it just continues to get better every new arc from here on

Ashley Wakefield

My favorite is Re Zero. Others top ones I liked were gurren lagann, Madoka Magica, Kaguya-sama, FMAB, for some of them

Peacefinder Simply

It's a fun anime lovable characters ✨ 💖

vader281

I’ve seen Shield Hero and enjoyed it. Maybe rewatch it and record reactions though they wouldn’t be a “blind reaction” so I’m torn. Never seen Devil is a Part Timer though. Definitely watching that before season 2.

JoeFreshest

Really? Well shit. I could have binged to catch up on it when that new season released. Maybe I will end up doing exclusive reactions here for that series.

JoeFreshest

50/50 on The Devil is a Part-timer, and The Rising of the Shield Hero

vardic d

Never seen it but… maybe I need to 🤔 it will be a bit different from the stuff I normally watch.

JoeFreshest

I don’t doubt it honestly. Also, I feel like that’s the case with most series. I also liked the series as it went on, wasn’t as much a fan of season 1 compared to season 3. The story continued to get better.

JoeFreshest

I think that bookworm is just in another league of light novels. It's just one of the very best fantasy series in the world. The next book releases on October 27th. Welcome to demon school Iruma-Kun Is my favourite anime

Ashley Wakefield

Uzaki-chan wants to hang out! Hands down

vader281

I think that overlord is one of those series that go from an B/A Tier to an S after reading the novels. They really are fantastic, one of the only LN series that get full hardback releases in english as well. Not for everyone but masterfully written.

HelenX

Bookworm is really good, the combination of slice of life and isekai is done really well.

Vartic

Yeah Parasyte really stand the test of time as a great story and amazing animation. It doesn't feel edgy despite being dark, the characters are relatable, and that finale is superb and asks the main question of the show again: Who are the real monsters? I really can't think of a single bad thing to say about the series.

Vartic

Parasyte is one I love and recommend a lot but for some reason I don’t think of it as a favorite. Gonna need to rewatch it soon I guess.

JoeFreshest

Seen all of these except Made in Abyss which I’m watching and then Madoka Magika and Code Geass. Looks like a nice shortlist. I would say that AOT is also in my short list. Re:Zero I feel just needs one more season and it will make my shortlist as well. It’s already my favorite isekai with Mushoku Tensei trailing close behind.

JoeFreshest

I really want to watch Steins;Gate and Psycho Pass too. I hear good things about both. I love Re:Zero and liked Overlord. I think I’ll probably watch Bookworm soon

JoeFreshest

It's hard to point out a favorite anime. I do have a short list, it's basically the anime I rewatched at least three or more times. Attack on titan Re:zero Mushoku Tensei Code Geass Parasyte Madoka Magika Made in Abyss

Vartic

Difficult to answer as I don't think that I can truly separate a love of the source material from a love of the anime adaptation. That said, Bookworm, overlord, re zero, steins;gate, psycho-pass. There really are a lot of shows that I love :)
