Unfortunate that you missed quite a few important details about her and her mother in previous eps The difference between a sorcerer and a mage was also already explained by the mage workshop girl in the prev eps. A sorcerer essentially uses science to alter reality, whereas a mage creates miracle with the help of the spirits/fairies.
