Watch enough anime, play enough games, read enough stories... and one will recognise such a setup almost immediately. It's a template setup, a cliché. So Cid knows (because of such an obvious template setup) immediately he can't pull it out. Or rather, not supposed to, since he's supposed to be a mob character. And if he actually tries to do so, he would probably break the sword (cracks on the handle). That's why he just waited there. For the protags to appear and pull the sword out. But it turned into the path where the bag guys appear first to stop the protags.

The only thing that makes us believe he is dumb is because he thinks all the cult, hero things were all the stuff he created and the obsession he has to be a Mob character. And along the way somehow for some reason his actions aligns with the Shadow Gardens plans when he intervenes. Aside from that he has a very good knowledge, can understand others feelings (if only he cares about them) and good at discerning things like with the Gate of the Sanctuary or the sword that he could not pull out etc.. This is what I understand about Cid from watching just 13 episodes so far.

2022-12-30 00:14:55 +0000 UTCDelta is more of a meathead, in pure physical fight she'd clap Alpha, but Alpha has the upper hand because of her mana (Alpha is basically Jack of All Trades, like she's somewhat below each of the Seven Shades (not as BRICC as Delta, not as giga brain as Eta, not as business/management savvy as Gamma, not as good at spying/infiltration as Epsilon etc, but she is prolly like #2 on all of that shit) when it comes to specs (Cid is the Master of All Trades essentially, he can stomp all of em izi))

For some reason, on purpose or not from the Cult, the Heros had Children with the normal masses, royal lines and noble family. Over the generations (to the point that the heros are legends), some female members of their lineages have developed cases of possession. The cult thinking they can use these girls, promoted their excommunication from normal society/turnover to the church. This was easy as none knew how to treat possession until Cid, and possession was a death penalty by turning into ugly flesh monsters.

Delta is one of the Girls that gets the least fan service parts in the LN or manga. She is precious for her simple minded attitude and her dog like actions with Boss Man. Almost all of the current fan service (melting slime suits) is Anime only. The this Episolon bit is anime only as well and just a almost repeat of the when she killed Venom last episode (which is in all three LN, manga, and anime.)

2022-12-29 21:49:58 +0000 UTCIt's also telling that while Delta was fighting Baldy, her slime suit was falling apart because she was losing her magic, but Alpha, who was exposed to the same magic drain, lost NONE of her slime suit. The implication is she has so much more total magic that the amount lost that was bothering Delta didn't handicap Alpha at all. Alpha's magic power level clearly blows Delta's out of the water. Delta might have the pure brute physical strength advantage between them, but I don't think that's enough for her to go toe to toe with Alpha.
