In Japan, it's common to refer to others with words that would translate to things like uncle, grandfather, sister, etc even to people who are not related to you, simply based on age. I think that's what the granddaughter thing is about, she is simply that much younger compared to him, who is even older than Elias.

2023-01-10 19:28:39 +0000 UTCI also really love Elias’s character, one of the reasons he avoids talking about himself is that he doesn’t really know anything about himself. He is, in essence, still a child. It was mentioned that the fairies detest lies, and the same goes for Elias, while he may not always tell the whole truth, he will never lie. A lot of the other names he has like Pilum Murialis is Latin for “wall of spears” since he’s the thorn mage. The other fae refer to him as a “half-baked” loser, and view him as an object of ridicule. Not quite fairy, not quite human, a mystery.

2023-01-10 17:16:23 +0000 UTCCan't wait for you to see the conclusion of the side story with the Vampire and the old man. That was probably my favorite "filler" episodes on this show, by far. This series really was a masterpiece, in its own right, and I'm so happy that they've finally decided to continue the story after season 1 ended.
