If magic is common and widely accepted, people may just accept her guns as some sort of magic weapon or artifact. A thunder thrower if you will. A lightning mage might make thunder by throwing lightning bolts around and they might assume her gun is something working on similar principles. If magic does not exist in this world, or is not widely accepted, then, yeah burn the witch becomes much more likely.

There's a lot more dangerous things she could be bringing over than guns. She gets sick from something their side, she can just hop back to the modern world and hit a hospital.
