Irregular at Magic High School REMINISCENCE ARC Reaction [FULL]

Good backstory for the past of our favorite sibling lovers.

Irregular at Magic High School REMINISCENCE ARC Reaction [FULL]

Actually, you are all wrong. Miya's treatment of Tatsuya is not because she looks down on him for his inability to use magic; it's merely to create a facade to deceive the majority of the uninformed members of the Yotsuba family. There's a minor spoiler part coming up: A few informed individuals of the Yotsuba family have concocted a lie that the protagonist's magical abilities are poor, thus he is despised by the Yotsuba family. However, he is actually deeply feared by those in the know within the Yotsuba family because, if he want, he could convert at least as much matter as a car into pure energy, which could destroy the entire Earth. Miya performed a mental modification on him to stabilize most of his emotions, preventing him from potentially using his magic to destroy the world in a moment of emotional outburst, and to reassure other members of the Yotsuba family so they wouldn't try to kill him preemptively out of fear of him destroying the world. His sister miyuki was created to use her magic to stop him if necessary. Miya has Miyuki treat Tatsuya as a servant to prevent them from forming deep emotional bonds, which could make it difficult for Miyuki to take action against Tatsuya or cause her intense sadness if she has to stop him. Because Miyuki's unique magic, Cocytus, is inevitably lethal if it hits, and since it is a mental magic, there is no defense against it (the only way to avoid being killed by Miyuki is to not be hit). Moreover, it will be mentioned next movie (in the Yotsuba Succession Arc) that if Miya chose to remove all of Tatsuya's emotions, it would not significantly affect her lifespan, contrary to only having two years left in the REMINISCENCE ARC (thus, there was no need for Maya to plan to kill Miya as she was already nearing her end, and Maya was also reluctant to harm Tatsuya, her most favorite "toy"). Using mental magic on Tatsuya does not affect Miya's own emotional functions, but overly precise manipulation overheats the magic computation area, significantly impacting her lifespan. As a mother, Miya chose to preserve one emotion for Tatsuya, not wanting her son to become a cold, unfeeling war machine. The emotion preserved was his love for his sister because Miya knew her time was short, and Miyuki, being genetically modified, would have a longer lifespan than Tatsuya. The reason why Miya allowed Tatsuya to visit and train at a military base is she hope her son could find another way out in the defense forces (receiving management and protection from the military after enlisting).

In fact, the answers to all the questions will only be revealed in the next movie "Yotsuba Succession Arc".

t4nature

They introduced manami as honami's niece. Where did you come up with her being honami's daughter? Also, they've established miya died and their father remarried right away.

Leo

It's not tatsya who has romantic love for his sister. It's what miyuki wants and tatsya simply does what makes miyuki happy. And yes miya is dead inside because of the fact she ended up killing her son's emotion.

Leo

Joe is a child assaulting pedophile rapist. How are they just letting him be in the military? If the assaulted child wasn't Tatsya, you know what would have happened. They should discharge him and cut his dick off.

Leo

To be fair, by all indications, Miya was the same kind of bitch as we know Maya to be before performing the artificial MCA procedure on Tatsuya, but yeah - having no emotional attachments to anyone or anything, and being disdainful of Tatsuya in particular, is a result of the artificial MCA procedure.

jdoggivjc

Oooo that’s something to look forward to

Season 3 is announced though. At least by now. It's airing in April.

OnePieceMan

I do wish there will be a season 3 cause that will answer more of the questions regarding their relationship

In addition, we know that the Yotsubas have been experimenting on THEMSELVES for quite a long time. Who knows what sort of effect that had long term? The Patriarch DID say that they were in danger of being expelled from the ranks of humanity altogether. He seemed to be suggesting that it wouldn't necessarily be other humans that would do it, but rather that the Yotsubas themselves would alter themselves to the point that they would no longer consider themselves human.

James Yancy

thanks for this, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to watch this.

AnsonEnderBorn

went incognito and was able to view it... odd lol

wahninomae

Will you be doing the reaction for "The Honor Student at Magic High School"? That's the first few arcs from Miyuki's point of view.

Yeah something the anime doesn't explain properly, is that Tatsuya can ONLY restore PHYSICAL matter, he can't do shit to the Spiritual Body that is the gateway between the meatbag & the Information Dimension. Basically Miyuki's Cocytus freezes (as in the CONCEPT of "Cessation of Energy", not literal freezing, which is why she can even kill Parasites despite them not having physical body to affect, since it hits em on conceptual level of things) the Spiritual Body, which cuts off the metaphysical connection between the Physical Body and Spiritual Body, thus rendering one incapable of using magic or moving said meatbag, so while one might argue whether this is against the law (as they aren't technically dead per se, just unable to have their Soul connect to the body, which functionally renders them vegetables, like a puppet w/ its strings cut off suddenly), I'd argue that it isn't, unless a new law is made to make it illegal by making the disconnecting of a Soul from a physical body a crime equal to murder.

Skebaba

Yes, it's in the name. Minami is a next-gen mode of the Sakurai-series of artificial magicians (so basically a lab model in a sense, there's various different Artificial Magician Series in the world, in various different factions & countries). Basically each Series' units don't rly have a last name but rather a serial name (see Sakurai Honami, Sakurai Minami), and in case it wasn't obvious, Sakurai Series is specced for generic barrier usage (whereas Jumonji have the Phalanx, Sakurai Series technically excels in a more generic sense than their specialization does, because of how their inherent barrier abilities are designed specs wise, even tho all the top-grade Magicians are lab-grown at least for 1st gen variants, up to and including the Ten Master Clans (and the Hundreds, who are more support-type Magicians due to having weaker raw power compared to the Master Clans (technically there's like 20 of em or w/e, but only the 10 strongest are in the 10MC grouping, and they ebb & flow w/ each generation generally speaking (I think Tatsuya & Miyuki are like 4th or 5th gen, and someone like General Kudou would be like 1st or 2nd gen latest, comparatively speaking, since Magicians are barely some 100 years old as their modern variant, even tho Ancient Magicians have existed for millennia, but they lack the speed that lab-grown Magician lineages have for obvious refinement related reasons as done by scientists in each lab)), but they still are superior to most RNG natural-born Magicians, hence why the Master Clans & the Hundred Families dominate all the Magic High Schools & Magic Universities generally speaking.), but the Augmented Magicians are even more refined specialist variants of that but w/ shorter lifespan due to the sheer strain this causes. They are essentially customized Artificial Magicians designed by the previously lab-grown Magicians themselves for the most part (altho only by those Magicians who actually specialize in genetic fields that the normie scientist dudes who created the 1st gen Magicians also worked under, so there's a relatively limited amount of those types of people fit for work like creating new augmented magician strains like this)

Skebaba

Wrong. She DID lose her emotions due to feedback recoil from using her Mental Design Interference to alter Tatsuya's subconscious areas of brain to make space for an artificial Magic Calculation Area. Since she was removing Tatsuya's capacity for emotions specifically, the feedback fried her own areas that govern emotions as recoil from the feedback. She has been literally in hospital monthly essentially since that point, and eventually does die from the complications, hence why she ain't there by school times anymore and why his dad married his lover mere 6 months after her death

Skebaba

It is specified in the reminiscence arc novel about Miya. She was hospitalized soon after the events of the arc & passed away a year later. So 2-3 years prior to the start of season 1. Minami is Honami's neice not daughter. We learn more about the relationship between Maya & Miya in later volumes (Season 3/4 of the show when it comes around, depending on how they spread it out).

Sorry Because of its privacy settings, this video cannot be played here

wahninomae

Iss there something wrong with the video?

JoeFreshest

When Tatsuyas mom looked at him and her eyes turned red-ish i believe she removed his limiter. and when she subjugated tatsuya to the experiment it actually weakened her, when she did not completely remove Tatsuya's emotions. Removing all of Tatsuya's emotions would have been easier and not cause any strain or side-effects but I don't know how much more I should say, it was kind of and kind of not brought up in the movie but this is more brouht up in later volumes.

Linus Pettersson

privacy setting?

wahninomae

1 There mother is dead in present time but you don't know how she died 2 In the book, he did try regrowth on minami but her magic calculation area got fried by the intense strain, something he cannot repair 3 minami said she was a manufactured human and her lifespan was coming to an end

Jake Smith

No, the mother didn't lose anything, she is just a bitch in general, she just lost "interest" in him cause of not being magically capable.
