Mio technically is the lead singer. I forgot where but im pretty sure it was basically confirmed she was. But it mostly depends on the song if they switch out Mio and Yui

IIRC, most of the success around K-On wasn't because they had a lot of songs within the anime episodes themselves... they released quite a few songs and albums outside of the anime that was also widely popular back in the day. Even to this day, I still have a Houkago Tea Time playlist saved on my Spotify... and I'm happy to say that Kessoku Band from Bocchi has been added to my playlist rotation as well.
