It's prolly some form of scorpion-type Worms? I know that some desert civs use scorpion stingers as drugs Also clearly Knives ordered Wolfwood to act as a babysitter to Vash, since his hippie ass can't fucking kill anyone to defend himself. While yes Knives wants Vash broken (as he said in E3 or E4 after credits scene), he only wants it MENTALLY, not literally pepsi'd. Hence why Bluesummers & Zazie are veering the sand steamer off course to force situations that challenge Vash's pacifist Cringe philosophy etc I mean Vash already explained it in E1. Red means a Plant is dying (due to running out of energy obviously from too much usage, Plants are organic after all)
