This arc supposes to be one of the earlier chapters that published short after the Steel Lady arc from S1 in the manga. Although it seems like the timeline for most of the side stories is not really specified between the manga and the novel aside from the main arc, I think that the way how the anime selected and reorganizes these side stories in S2 has made the series more fluent and digestible as a seasonal anime. Some elements that are introduced to this arc have further developed in the series even though this is a side story as well.
