I was kinda on the same boat when this first came out. But it wasn't because I thought this show was bad, it was more like other shows that came out around the same time were just more interesting to me. But after I got around to watching this a few years after it came out, this turned out to be one of my favorite drama/romcom animes of all time.

Maybe end of 2024 into 2025 Ill rewatch Oregairu (watched in 2020), A Silent Voice (watched in 2018), Your Name (watched in 2018), and Toradora. I'll probably have forgotten them by then with my memory.

I am not really sure how you can compare them, yeah they have the same makers, etc. But the story and characters are completely different. I rate Toradora higher (5 starts) than golden time (4 stars), but I definitely enjoyed both of them a lot. You should give it another try.
