It’s like resistance training, I think. It’s VR, with no physical controls, so everything it done in your head. Overcoming all the trash games and accumulating that mental experience made him better when he started a ‘god’ game. He mentioned in the first episode how much easier it was to move and do things in SLF. He even beat the Vorpal Bunny soon after logging in with next to no instructions on gameplay, just reacting and predicting.
