I think there are many headcanoned reasons for why Helck didn't attack, but the most notable one is that Helck was holding Alicia with both hands and he wanted to leave the place with her instead of fighting (since this trope is commonly seen in other media as well). Also Helck wasn't affected by the awakening snow since he was already a hero.
