Eminence in Shadow S2 Ep. 6 Reaction [FULL]

john smith vs alpha and delta?

Eminence in Shadow S2 Ep. 6 Reaction [FULL]

Comments

Apparently the after credit scene was extended for the companion chibi/mini series on the official channel, so the scene would likely be just briefly mentioned in the next episode.

w/smallscreen Computer

That’s the point of the show and why it’s so funny as soon as that element is removed it stops being eminence in shadow and becomes a serious power fantasy isekai

Kyle

Cid remembers that she was the girl he saved that he confused with Rose in S1EP19 when Rose spoils his entrance as stylish bandit slayer, and he comments thinking that the girl he saved in child mode was a beast person not a human. But he actually did save both of them just forgot.

RandomNJguy

she wasn't his senpai though. They were in the same class/grade.

thatguyzacho

I have a real strong feeling that when Cid mentioned "senpai" at the end there he was thinking about the senpai (Nishino Akane) he helped in his previous life (refer to season 1 episode 1)

Chris Cheung

Cid thought Mitsugoshi was making too much money and that he was making nothing out of it. So he decided to forge a plan with Yukime to fuck around with the economy and get Mitsugoshi and the other group to go to war with each other, so by the end he can rebuild Mitsugoshi

Ixy

The punch was dope af and this coming from someone who read the manga before. I think they did the fight well. But don't forget they're adapting the LN not the manga.

Ixy

This one wasnt an important thing just funny so not sure if they will put it in the next episode

Ixy

Post credit wasnt anything IMPORTANT but it is funny if you remember the context. So maybe consider watching it

Ixy

I mean even in the show itself, Cid is basically BS Larping, but it means something to the people around him, so I don't consider it a lose if the author wrote it as a fan parody but it also "accidentally" is also something else.

dpolaristar

Like , no disrespect bro you view the show how you want I'm not trying to clown on you , it's just I imagined this convo in my head and it's Hella funny, had to share it with you😂

Touch Me

I like how Joe watched the whole ending and paused 1 sec before the scene))

Mikhail

Bro I'd pay so much money to have you sit down with the author lmao😅 .... It'd be the scene with Yukime and Cid on the train when he proposes the counterfeit bills ... You'd tell him all this and he'd be like ... Y-yea , totally , I was meant to write this elaborate story how this ignorant MC on a mission to become the edge lord of his dreams has and impact on the world around him😭

Touch Me

Honestly I take Eminence more seriously as a show than say Code Geass, which tbh Eminence feels more like a parody of Code Geass than an Isekai, or rather a parody of the types of fans Code Geass appeals to, and how Code Geass is a shitty power fantasy with surface level pretentious themes that scream "I'm 14 and this is Deep" Eminence is more honest about it and thus when it does go for Drama I feel its more sincere with it. I don't really take Cid himself seriously, so much as I take the impact he has on the other characters lives (for better or worse) seriously.

dpolaristar

With this comment I almost 100% agree , especially with the OPM comparison, few people look at that show this way.. For me though with Eminence I'd rather not agree with everything Cid does than take it seriously/the anime take itself seriously and have another generic isekai even if it'd be a little better still than most of them... for anime with a righteous MC we have a lot of shitty shounens, some decent ones like JJK. For anime with anti-hero or straight up villainous MC we have a few mid ones and greats like Overlord... so we really don't need more of either of those , I'll have my absurd isekai that's easily one of the best imo

Touch Me

I think there is value in breaking down Friends personally, I think the Eminence can be read both as an absurd parody of Power Fantasies for edgelord teenagers but also as a legit drama from all the other characters perspectives at the same time. Similar to how One Punch Man is both Saitama's personal story of his crisis of being too powerful and the absurdity of being unfulfilled from being OP, but for everyone else it is a straight battle shonen/super hero story.

dpolaristar

Eh, while it was still good, I am a bit disappointed with Alpha vs Cid bit to be honest... Imo manga handled it better with the gap between their perspectives... kinda lacked the punch in anime

zireel93

Yeah , but that's what I'm talking about , notice how I didn't argue with anything you said , I was talking about the anime , the genre it represents... Classroom of the Elite operates on the personality of the MC , how he interacts with the world and how fucked up he is .. the point of this anime isn't whether the MC is good or not, same as your not breaking down Friends while watching

Touch Me

The Thing is, for him its not that deep, for everyone else its literally the shit.

dpolaristar

It's not that deep, the moment he would realize what's going on and how serious things are , that the cult exists etc. That would mean the end of this show we currently know and love it as... because no matter what his stance would be on all of this , whether he would continue playing the "villain" or team up with SG he would stop being himself and the type of MC he represents.. and the anime would stop being this meta , comedy show.. it would start taking itself seriously..

Touch Me

I have a feeling this one won't

dpolaristar

Well the last one I skipped was included in the following episode so I’m not too worried about

JoeFreshest

You skipped an end credits clip again.

dpolaristar

He really only seems to help people if it fits with his ideal of self expression. Once he teaches them how to fish, he seems to not really want to stick around.

dpolaristar

Cid does appreciate the people in his life he is constantly doing things for them behind their back. Is he a sociopath yes. Psychopath no. He empathizes with people and helps them for no reason.

Kyle

Honestly I think Cid is just as much of a psychopath as Ayanokoiji, except he might be even worse, since while the latter seems to be aware their is something wrong with them and something about them is missing, Cid doesn't seem to be aware. It's tragic that he sees all these people that would die for him,all these girls worship the ground he steps on, revolve their whole lives around him, have their own unique skillsets, and as a bonus are smoking hot and yet it doesn't seem to see any of them as more than NPC props for his power fantasy. I think the only thing Cid Values in Life, is the concept of Expressing your own will and individuality, basically every edgy teenage boy that discovered Nietzsche, Goethe, Ayn Rand, etc Where he respects and desires for people to follow their own true will and sees anything that gets in the way of that as "Evil." As a child he was bitter his parents made him practice piano, as it infringed on his freedom, but later found a use for it as an expression of his will. He gets (comically) upset when the girls plagarize stuff from his world and when they are threatening local businesses because he sees that as disrespect to those people individual accomplishments and not giving them a chance to express themselves. This can be noble, and inspiring, and it shows he has a value system based on some sense of justice, however it also is a worldview that doesn't allow for love or connections. These girls Love him, they would bury bodies for him without question, but he can't see or appreciate that. As kids he wanted them to express their own will and with Rose he inspired her to grow into her true potential, but beyond that he doesn't care about their personal lives, the girls mistaked that desire of expression for everyone as him expressing love to them. It's just so Sad, that Cid can't appreciate the people in his life, and the girls are pining for a man that doesn't love them, and I'm not sure he ever will.

dpolaristar

In the immortal words of Delta, best girl, Kuro Jugga Jugga. Love the lots of Delta moments we are getting this season.

Jared Williams

With regards to your question early on: The name of the girl that's with Zeta has not been revealed in the anime at this point in time. Also, the girl in the credits image is "Nue". She was introduced in season 1 as an assistant to Gamma. She was also the undercover-girl with glasses at the school during the "terrorist arc".

Tobias Reinhold

Alpha has been the closest and has observed cid the longest so shed know at a glance it was him from his attack moves. while her mist form doesnt let her get hit like cid said its lightweight so it looked like shadow hit alpha with the buddhist palm strike to blow her away

Diego

I... I don't think I like John Smith anymore :'( I hope shadow comes back..
