The queen is one of the main characters from the authors previous work, Kingdom of Caliburn, which is set in the same universe or something. Or multiverse. Doroka is this universe's version of her, and Adonis is this universe's version of her lover.

Also her underling the literal drug dealer looking dude referred to Adonis w/ the Engrish term Incarnation (IDK why the subs didn't keep it in the line, but changed it to Adonis...)
Edit: nvm I misremembered they used "man" instead of "Adonis" in the subs, but the point still stands since she specifically mentioned a fake head in said context, which can only refer to Adonis. Still weird why they didn't just leave the Incarnation word in the subs tho, literally any translator can quite clearly hear him say it in Engrish after all

This is one of the shows this season that reminds me of just how much edgy shows we have ongoing at the moment. Unfortunately, among those shows, I feel like this one's at the bottom of that list. Not innately bad, but it feels like everything's all over the place, and cranked up to 11.

Plus the fact that the witches cannot have family due to being birthed out of a tree

I don't think you saw it. I do not think the "queen" is a sibling or relative. She said something about being a witch who travels the ensembleverse and it showed an image of someone who looked like adonis but with red hair
