after this arc is over, you'll be fully caught up to the manga, so you can look stuff up... actually, they introduced the concept for the next arc/season 3, so maybe wait till we're done with this season before doing that.

2023-12-02 03:09:08 +0000 UTCChise has never met Morrigan directly in S1, however Ruth has received the help for finding Chise from Morrigan's seasonal reincarnation (simplified explanation) and promised to offer the mistletoe next winter, so essentially Ruth forgot to tell Chise about the offering and Morrigan came to find Chise herself. The sacrifice could be something else though.

2023-12-01 10:35:01 +0000 UTCCorrect, mistletoe is the "golden branch", which can get confusing because of the "golden" bit, but here it denotes its value for symbological reasons to said specific deity, hence the "golden" as in "most valued" descriptor before the "branch" bit
