Probably not specifically who he is... but rather the fact that he's high up the hierarchy. Telltale signs of the way he dresses is already a dead giveaway of that. But, so far, they haven't really touched upon Jinshi's true identity within the royal palace.

I want to point out its another hint that Jinshi must be pretty high up in rank if he is in charge of looking over legislation to be passed.

I just want to point out even if she was 18 that technically the Japanese drinking age is 20. So if the law passed even if she was legal to bang in the modern world she's be illegal drink.

They mention that the servant who had "commited suicide" was at the garden party where the poison attempt took place. I would imagine she was killed to cover some tracks with her involvement in the poisoning.

Yeah I get that. I only mean she has the potential of that being discovered and her becoming noble since this is a fictional drama and the foreshadowing makes it seem like it will happen eventually.

oh. I swear someone said she was 18 so its not weird if they do "anime stuff" with her. I guess maybe the bar is so fucking low 17 is somehow less weird when they do "anime stuff" with a character. Admittedly, this anime isn't constantly trying to remind you of the character's age. Also, they just don't do weird stuff with Maomao which is admittedly quite refreshing π

The way Maomao talked to Jinshi in this episode made it seems like Maomao knows who Jinshi actually is

I bet the servant was illiterate and they didn't even think of that when they discovered her "will".

Strictly speaking Maomao IS a commoner, because if you aren't officially acknowledged by a noble or w/e Family Head, you AREN'T a noble officially speaking, even if lineage wise you'd be passable as potentially worthy enough stock for reproductive or w/e purposes
