I love that whole lore drop, and then you get to the end and itβs just, Joe doesnβt know doors.

A Geas is basically a binding compulsion, which is not that different in design from your stereotypical magic contracts in general, except unlike just contracts, a Geas CAN be forced upon someone else depending on the caster themselves & how exactly you device one. So a Geas can also act as a bloodline curse potentially as well depending on how giga brain genius of a mage you are of course (I'm sure there are some minor-ish magus families that specialize in Geas R&D, there's pretty much clans for practically every standard magic type thingie, in addition to more esoteric & rarer/unique individual types of magics that have more severe & complex reqs to be able to wield such magic). For example, pretty much any deity of any power can force a Geas upon a person against their will (in a sense this is what happened w/ Herakles, when he was made temporarily insane by the goddess Iris & Madness (the anthropomorphic personification that is), which resulted in him killing his wife & kid during said insanity fit forced upon him via divine means. In fact this event is one of the reasons why Herakles is qualified to be Summoned under the Berserker class, as its only real requirement is that your lore must contain a line about you having gone insane at any point in your life.
Imagine being Joe & not knowing what a door is π
