2024-06-08 03:50:45 +0000 UTCI know this is 5 months old but thought id mention, episode 1 of the anime was the prologue of volume 4, due to this change, getting the anime to half way through volume 4 leading into earth arc is perfect for a movie, the mood is a little too different for a random seasonal episode but is perfect in movie format

2023-12-20 19:33:55 +0000 UTCIn the light novel, Margaret (the maid) and Rose used to be very close growing up. So Margaret took Rose's "betrayal" (killing the king) extremely personally. She basically acted like she hated Rose after that. It was the King's announcement that he'd been compromised and that Rose wasn't a traitor that changed her mind. Regarding the strings, I always assumed he was telekinetically manipulating them. He just has to use magic to move a few points of thread to a certain location and he can bind the beast in midair. The slimes are ordinary slimes. Just standard monsters. He found a way to use magic to turn slimes into an incredibly flexible weapon/armor then shared the method with shadow garden. Doing so requires a lot of magic control, but shadow garden's recruits are all descendants of the hero so they have a ton of magic potential that can be trained. That's why he's always praising Epsilon's use of slime to convincingly change her body shape. That takes an enormous level of magic control. Nishino didn't say it had been 20 years. She said she was in her 20's, so presumably 5-10 years has passed (I don't remember exactly how long it was from the LN). Thanks for the reactions!

2023-12-20 18:55:35 +0000 UTCSo the slime is just a type of monster that exists in the world, while Cid was growing up experimenting with magic he discovered that slime conducts magic incredibly well. It's gotten to the point that since every member of Shadow garden uses that species of slime it's pretty much going extinct in the wild. Unfortunately the anime skipped a large portion of Cid growing up in the new world where he experimented with magic etc.

2023-12-20 18:18:46 +0000 UTCAs they said, Magic became a thing for the cult's world when it connected to another Realm w/ the energy that is colloquially called "Magic", which wiped out all the dragons that existed as the apex before Humanoids even were a thing. So when MC got clapped by truck-kun in S1E1, he got yeeted to this world because of some type of portal between this Realm & Earth Realm, and just like he got the yeet, the passive atmospheric energy field that we call Magic also got yeeted to Earth Realm, thus causing Magic to be a thing fr (not unlike how the shit works in the Witcher franchise rly, in fact I'd say it's almost identical in the general concept). So clearly Nishino must be OP af to be known as the Saviour in this post-apocalypse setting caused by Magic becoming a thing (I presume it also introduced some monsters or w/e, probably something similar like the 4th Realm has w/ all the magic beasts n shieet in it, given how chaotic the damage is, I assume if it was just nutjobs w/ magic going insane, the damage would be somewhat more standard in looks, not that chaotic & seemingly random to all the buildings & terrain etc)
