That opening is the most "early 2000's rock" I've heard in decades and I'm here for it. Good nostalgia vibes from my high school days.

Adding on to this comment, the thing Brook always says is "Hone, naindesukedo" Hone: Bone Nai/Nain: don't have desukedo: a form of speech Hone, naindesukedo = Bones, I don't have them though

It makes the most sense. If I had to guess the bread dough was made with less water (to make it denser and less prone to mold) Dried meat lasts for a long time as well and can be boiled into a stew with the bread. Cheese... well cheese. It could all be eaten separately for longer stays, or combined for a (relatively) balanced meal

I love this show probably too much

Just for kicks and giggles. Here’s an explanation for the phrase you were asking about. He is saying at the end of that one section: 全然できる気がしないんだけど (Zenzen dekiru ki ga shinai n da kedo) Zenzen - (not) at all, (not) in the slightest, totally. Depending if negative or positive sentence Dekiru - potential form of “to do” meaning “to be able to do” or “can do” Ki ga suru/shinai - to get the feeling/to not get the feeling nda - a form of speech with many uses. (complicated lol) Kedo - but, except, however So directly translated: I don’t get the feeling I can do it at all (or in the slightest) Better English translation (because Japanese love their negatives): I get the feeling I won’t be able to do it in the slightest

I love how his food rations is a bunch of stale bread, what looks like some dried meat, and 2 whole ass wheels of cheese, lol
