2023-03-01 12:16:32 +0000 UTCGrimgar is probably one of the very few isekais that depict a more "realistic" and harsh reality of what being reincarnated/transported to a fantasy world would really be like. You don't have "stats" or gain "experience" points... you actually live through it all and gain experience (different context and definition). I think I remember now why this show wasn't as popular as other isekais... it's because it subverts one's expectations of fantasy isekais... enemies that aren't grand or large scale (heck, we've been stuck with goblins in the last 4 episodes), protagonists that aren't OP in some way, shape, or form, daily struggles of just surviving, and not focused on some romance harem aspect (though, there are some fanservice stuff, but nothing too crazy).
