I recently heard from another reaction channel Re:Animated that some Anime production companies are cracking down on copyright on Patreon. This can lead to account suspension. I really pray this doesn't happen to us. I'll be keeping an eye on things. Please DM me on Twitter or Discord if you hear anything more or notice the FreshestAnime account has an issue.

Yeah I think I’ll just post the popular Shonen series on my Streamable and just link instead of the embed. We’ll see how it goes

JoeFreshest

How, it's literally just a link? Not Patreon's responsibility since they ain't hosting anything DMCA related technically speaking

Skebaba

Well they could still do something about my account and delete my posts.

Fuckin bullies

I recommend not using the patreon player, because then they are shit out of luck when it comes to Patreon, since Patreon isn't hosting the content itself, just a link to the site that does host it

Letts React has been dealing with this issue today as well (specifically for Death Note and Demon Slayer). They're working on uploading the videos to Vimeo then providing a link in the post on Patreon. I know it's a bit of a task, but channels such as Blindwave and The Normies have dedicated websites where they host the full reactions behind a Patreon plugin so people need to sign into their Patreon accounts to access those pages. (Blindwave uses timecode with full audio and The Normies now do full video with blurring/opacity changes). It's a lot of work, but could be something to work towards...

Update: ohkatyttv used timer reaction and that also got hit. so Timer isn't safe either. that would be annoying for me to open up anime to watch along, and inconvenience to pause when Joe pauses. and I can't sync up x2 speed properly. not enjoyable at all to use only timer. mirroring/ lower opacity of the anime would be a bit better.

FROM ohkaty POSTED ON YT 1 hour ago Hi everyone. This is a really shitty update and I am absolutely freaking out but Patreon have temporarily suspended my account due to DMCA strikes particularly on my HXH reactions and Demon Slayer reactions. I've had to remove all of them from my platform, but some of my uncut timers were also striked, which I'm sure you all know makes no sense, as these never include any copyrighted content. These videos are simply raw footage of me reacting to the show, which you cannot see, with a timestamp. I put so much time and energy into my Patreon and it is currently my main source of income, so this is absolutely devastating and losing my platform there would be extremely detrimental to my full-time content creation career. I know dozens of fellow reactors upload reaction content just like mine to their Patreons so I'm entirely unsure why I have been hit, especially for content that does not include anything whatsoever, but I am currently waiting to hear back from their support and will keep you updated.

I recommend making your reaction videos to same kind as Semblance of Sanity patreon page. Don't show any footage of anime you are watching only timer when you started. Also some japanese Vtubers have used same kind format to watch anime shows in live on youtube.

Elthalus

I really hope that your channel won't get any problems🙏

Feliks Özer

Damn , thats why i couldnt accees thier web. Thanks for info . I hope you avoid it.

Saint Vakos

I just deleted ALL Demon Slayer reactions just in case. It looks like, Demon Slayer, JoJo, Boruto, and Naruto are being targeted... I also deleted the videos for the Bleach TYBW reactions...

JoeFreshest

It's really sad ((
