I think the major difference is that he didnt get powerful because of reincarnating. He was powerful and reincarnated because of that power. I think he tends to carry more agency as a character because of that. He has the dumb oblivious stuff with girls, but outside of that he is decisive and knowledgeable and carves his own path. He really seems to avoid a lot of the annoying tropes because he is always gathering info and using his experience and cunning to defeat his enemies. Overall I think I like the story because he is more proactive than 90 percent of MCs in these kinds of stories.
