2023-04-30 21:03:01 +0000 UTCI’m super excited to see this get animated! It’s gone from novel to webcomic and now to anime! I haven’t read the novel, but the webcomic is 4 seasons long and has somewhere around 150 chapters to it give or take (you can read it on TappyToon; first 25 episodes are free); this first episode covered the first 4 chapters of the webcomic. I think you’ll enjoy this! As for the “trope” it follows, while she is still a character slated to die in her original story, it’s already refreshing to see her NOT in the role of “villainess”, which is usually where these girls end up. So that alone makes it feel different. Later on, (no spoils here) it showcases some nice differences to relationship dynamics compared to other anime as well, BECAUSE she isn’t the villainess OR the protagonist… she’s just the “support” character… and both the original “villainess” and the original “(female) protagonist” still exist, so we get to see this interesting sort of triangle dynamic between all three of these differing female characters (eventually, but that probably won’t be this season if it’s following the defined webcomic “seasons”). Overall, it was a fantastic, binge-worthy, worth-every-penny-spent kind of webcomic imo. Hopefully the anime adaptation doesn’t disappoint!!! I look forward to reacting to this series with you. 😄
