2024-01-16 01:06:25 +0000 UTCOne of the few things I did see coming was that Ruby was his patient. This anime (3 episodes) threw me so many times, and yes I cried a couple of times near the end. So sad. And Ruby saying bye to her mom (the picture) as she leaves, as something she does every time. Again, crying.

I read the description and decided that I would only give it a watch from your reaction, if I didn't like the show, at least I would find your reaction entertaining for the first episode. But I would probably drop the series after that. Gonna continue the series though, this was good. Did NOT see that ending coming. HOLY SHIT! I hope this show does well!

When I first heard about this show, knowing it was gonna be another anime centered around idols, I gave it a hard pass at first. But then the first episode came out and the internet went crazy! This was, by far, the most insane rollercoaster of a first episode in any series I've seen in recent years. I have high expectations for the remainder of this series... I just hope that they didn't peak and blow most of their load on this first episode, only for the succeeding episodes to be either mediocre or go downhill.

I just wanna add a bit more emphasis to the first iteration. ‘Oshi’ has a VERY similar (but not exact) connotation of the western term ‘stan.’ I say this to emphasize that it’s more than just being a casual ‘fan’ of someone. Similar to recent trends in the past few years of K-pop fans ‘stanning’ their favorite celebrity so the title KINDA can be looked at like ‘Oshi no Ko’ = ‘My Stan’ kinda??? I guess??? It sounds weird sure but it’s definitely more in line of an obsessive/possessive fan And yeah, the second interpretation is pretty much accurate of ‘Child(ren) of the idol’

Yes, 16 and 18 is acceptable nearly everwhere, some requiring parental consent. But a lot of the time in anime the person is mid 20s or older. This goes for the people commenting "Well actually it's 16" as well. A bunch of them are old dudes trying to justify their "Lolicon" behavior.

It's "Ephebophile" (i.e the attraction to late-puberty Humans) Also Oshi no Ko is a double pun (it usually means "The person I support" (i.e idol), but it can also be read as "children" as well as far as "ko" goes, so basically "children of the idol"), which isn't as obvious if you ain't a native speaker. I suck ass at explaining so the nuance might be fucked up here, anyone feel free to improve the explanation
