As a manga reader, I have to say that the adaptation isn't really good. They aren't exactly skipping important stuff, but a lot of small things that don't focus on ecchi are being cut and it removes nuance. The animation also sucks. 12 episodes just wasn't good for this because there's a massive arc that they need to rush to fit in now.
