Fate/Zero Ep. 16 Reaction [FULL]

Saber v Lancer with a fucked up twist. Kiritsugu is different...

Comments

The reason Kayneth got awarded the Command Seal for the killing of Caster is because: 1- the two responsible are Saber and Lancer 2- Saber's master won't show himself 3- Saber was only able to do it because Lancer sacrificed one of his Noble Phantasm. The third point is why Kayneth was able to get the reward.

the "she just got what she wanted. Now, she's finally doing things singlehandedly" bit at 6:20 was great. Thank you for the good laugh you gave me.

Nah. It's just the sad fate of Lancer servants in Fate to have E rank Luck. And that unlike Cu who got several routes and spinoffs, Diarmuid only got Fate/Zero. They are actually quite similar, and while Cu would win in a 1v1 due to battle compatibility of their skill sets, when faced with others they are about on par. - Both are demigods - Both have singlehandedly faced armies. (Diarmuid overwhelmed armies of over 1000 men several times by himself, each in only a few hours.) (Thing is, there weren't anyone close to his level in those armies (other than Fionn, but they didn't fight each others) unlike in the army that Cu brought to a standstill for days (heck, that army had Medb and Fergus, a guy around Cu's level and who was his fellow disciple of Scathach, and also had many other famed warriors). - Both are able to be summoned as Saber, Lancer and Berserker. (though Cu can also be Caster) (In his myth, Diarmuid actually used 4 cursed weapons. 2 cursed swords and 2 cursed spears.) (the first sword gives a strong passive buff against physical and magical harm as well as increasing his combat performance. the second sword was his strongest weapon; this demonic sword had the power of "A blow bringing certain death, another certain victory." and its power was to the point of being able to almost control destiny. When danger was scarce, Diarmuid would carry Beagalltach(the passsive buff sword) along with the demonic spear Gáe Buidhe(yellow spear that causes wounds that cannot heal). When going into life-threatening adventures, Diarmuid would carry the demonic sword Moralltach along with the demonic spear Gáe Dearg(the red spear that can sever magic). So Diarmuid was always dual wielding a sword and a spear, something that he cannot do as a servant because of the constraints of the class system. (as for Cu being a saber, in his myths he used the Sword of Time Reversal Fragarach, but in Fate for reasons I don't know they decided that he didn't. - final fun fact of similarity: Diarmuid's foster parent, Manannán mac Lir, the Celtic God of the Sea and the Otherworld and a king of fairies was also the foster parent of the Irish Sun God Lugh, and thus the foster grandfather of Cu Chulainn. Manannan was the one who gave both swords and the yellow spear to Diarmuid (he got the red spear from another god who was passing himself for a druid and helped raise Diarmuid), but Manannan was also the one who gave Fragarach to Lugh, who in the actual myths in turn gave it to Cu.

And he would also be able to be a Saber with his twin swords. In his myth, he actually used 4 weapons. 2 demonic swords and 2 demonic spears. He once faced an army alone with those 4 weapons and won singlehandedly with relative ease. (and he always fought while dual wielding a sword and a spear, something that he cannot do as a servant because of the constraints of the class system. Thing is, there weren't anyone close to his level in that army unlike in the army that Cu brought to a standstill for days (heck, that army had Fergus, a guy around Cu's level and who was his fellow disciple of Scathach). And also that Diarmuid's skill set is more oriented to single combat. He was just so skilled that he could deal with armies on his own in a few hours. Of note, both Cu and Diarmuid were demigods.

The thing with fate stay night is the 3 versions have almost the same characters but different Heroines for the mc. Also servants that fight in the grail war can not come back as a different class in a different war because of the things that happen in that war. All of the servants are just data in the holy grail. They do have different classes but that's because they are versions that the grail made because their tale could also make them that class. So darmuid would have a possibility of being a berserker if his story was one that made him that way but it would not be because of this war.
