All people with a core were sort of “created” at the Takahara Academy. And when that person dies, he turns into man-eater. That’s why both Maru and that little kid are hirukos. That means that kid’s mom was one of the kids from Takahara academy. There were two women who wanted to have a kid, maybe it’s those lovey-dovey girls from ep 2? Don’t remember their names, the kissing ones. I think it makes sense. That also means that “Hotel king” is a daughter of someone from Takahara academy as well
