Actually, (manga reader here, no spoils) this IS the evening after he spoke to Akane at her workplace. So yes, the oil-based drawing is on his hand as he's meeting with Tsubaki in the after-credits. :) (And no, I wouldn't call that a spoiler at all because the anime moves chronologically 99% of the time and indicates whenever it's going into a flashback/memory with very clear transitions.)

I'm loving this show, but really hating how no matter what happens, someone is going to lose. Obviously this is the Akane and Yamada show, its about them - but the last few episodes have taught us that Tsubaki isn't the villain, but a nice girl, who has genuine feelings for a looooong time. A weird prediction for me, is she is going to see Akanes drawing on his hand (oil based, didn't wash off yet?) and make it easier for him and realise that he loves Akane and step back before he rejects her (possibly even point it out to him)
