I always considered 5/10 as literally mid... not bad but not good. For me to give an anime a 10 ( I have never given it to a single one) there has to be literally nothing wrong with it all. So on a 5 start rating 2 and 1/2 is mid and and a 4 would be the same as an 8/10. I also think most things would make more sense to be between 3-4 on CR for that reason.
