Joe, I do not know if you will read this but, Ashwallen is the Quincy selection process by Ywach where he takes the power of all the impure Quincy. Ichigo's mom was contaminated by hollow, so she is considered impure, even though she is from a Pure Quincy bloodline. Ishida's mom is from a branch family where their blood has been mixed with non-Quincy, so it is also considered impure. Since Ishida's mom is impure, Ishida is also impure despite his Pure Quincy father. So, when the Ashwallen was conducted by Ywach, Ishida should have lost his power too, but somehow, he survived. As such, Ywach is saying that since Ishida is the only Quincy that can survive his power, Ishida is the best Quincy to be his successor.
