In LN (Vol.7, ch.6) it said Rudy did picked her himself. The scene first describe the girl that Rudy picks: "sizeable breasts", "tight waist", "facial features looked Asuran", "elongated eyes that slanted down slightly", "had a confident air", "reddish, curly hair set in waves"...etc. After stating all these points, then Rudy suddenly realize that her physical appearance remind him of Eris, and even her name sounded similar (he thinks the name Elise is probably just an alias). For Soldat, as his favorite girl is not available on that night, so he claimed that he will just have some drinks instead. He didn't pick the girl for Rudy probably because he wanted Rudy to pick someone that matches his taste.

As Joe mentioned, that side shot of Rudy didn't need to be censored since his lower extremities would be blocked by his thighs anyway. Then they just went ahead and showed his entire cake... so that was a head-scratcher for me too.

2023-07-24 12:51:27 +0000 UTCThe OP lyrics is actually quite good that reflects Rudy's thoughts when beginning this new journey alone, he made the decision to move forward, but it doesn't mean he can be 100% all right as he was in the past, with doubts and hesitation, not sure about the next steps, he still try to find a way to live on his life. The full version is amazing too, I will suggest anyone confused by previous episodes to listen the OP with lyrics.

At this point, you should know people will be up in arms for their favorite anime at the slightest inkling of negativity toward it. I thought last episode had trouble really expressing what it wanted to and this episode did a better job, but part of that might just be because so many people informed me of what the last one tried to convey. It definitely felt a bit fast in this one, but overall I feel like it expressed itself well. I think the anime was trying to breeze through this volume, because it wasn't as well received, to get back to more of the fan favorites.

He was still acting a little rude to our boy, but I think that was because he was trying to teach him a lesson. Though, if light novel fans really were getting angry at Joe for being annoyed at him because of how he is in this ep, then yeah, I see why they were outta line. I don't usually look at the comments section often, so I don't know what they said and too lazy to scroll down. Aside from that, can't wait for the next ep

Just this episode (to me) really felt like I've sat through 20 minutes of something I already get and have seen

I think what I've always loved about MT is that they really dive deep into the characters and world building... and since the focus of this cour is Rudy trying to deal with the aftermath of Eris leaving, these episodes are crucial for that. Also, the fact that they're already dead set on a 2 cour season is good enough as it is... it's not like they're stopping at the 2nd cour of season 2 anyway. If the demand is still there, and there's still enough from the source material to adapt, you can bet we'll likely be seeing a season 3 or beyond, at some point in the future. And as far as being impatient about the weekly schedule is concerned, the fact that they're making you feel like that, means they've already accomplished their goal... which is to sell more copies of the source material.

So the only "new" thing was that they are now on bad terms and Rudy left with Sol dude .... didn't have to take up all of this weeks episode.. The stuff about how Rudy doesn't learn sometimes from his own mistakes and then repeats them in some form only to regret it immediately and everything else in this episode is something they have been showing as constantly, at this point its nothing new... Now I understand that the more you hammer this in the viewers' heads the more of an impact it will have in the future but still , I was really hyped and got disappointed real fast when I realized what kind of episode this is that I'm watching... All I'm saying is : I get why , but imo we don't have time for this lol

Now if I heard correctly , this is going to be a full two core season but still , 24 episodes ain't enough for Mushoku Tensei already.... I'm REALLY tempted to just read ahead , because waiting a whole ass week is killing me, especially if I'm hit with a curveball of an episode like this one

I try to stay anime-only as much as possible, but I do get spoiled with some crucial bits of story from time to time. I don't really mind spoilers as much... knowing something happens is one thing, but actually experiencing these stories, in full detail, is what I'm mostly here for.
