Loved the "Ride or Die"/"Rider Die" joke.

Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

That's not why she can't dissipate. Even with a stronger master she can't dissipate. She also never dissipated in the Fate/Zero. Normally the reason why she can't dissipate is explained in the FATE route (first Stay Night route), so it won't be explained in UBW nor Heaven's Feel. So the following is skipped info: She's actually not a full servant. She never actually died. She made a deal with the World and her time was stopped before her death and she was put (alongside the state of the battlefield she was at the time) separate from normal time. This is why at the end of Fate/Zero she returned to that battlefield to wait to be summoned anew. This is why she's able to remember the previous wars. This is why she cannot dissipate. This is why she doesn't appear with Avalon (servants are summoned at their peak for their class category, and she should thus be summoned with Excalibur AND Avalon, but she since didn't have it with her at her last battle, she doesn't have it as a demi-servant.) Though she's also restricted by the class system, as at that time she had both Excalibur and the holy spear Rhongomyniad, but she can't use both at the same time as a servant. Instead she only has the sword as a Saber and the spear as a Lancer. Because to be able to be a full servant, you need to be summoned from the Throne of Heroes. Saber was recognized by the World and the Throne of Heroes, but she hasn't gone to it yet due to not being dead yet technically speaking. And thus she both lacks some Servant abilities and can do some things that Servants cannot.

Just came back to the patreon to check how far has the fate series are and hear your opinion of Helck!

Fate has always been a pretty interesting franchise to dive into, assuming you can keep your sanity from all the lore dumps that's thrown at you from all directions.

I mean technically all Servants fall under that. The term specifically used is EIYUU, not Yuusha. Eiyuu specifically means a WAR HERO, not a Hero (i.e the fantasy fable type of one, usually denoting a Divinely appointed one, i.e goodie two shoes type, someone who is Justice). Although usually used for "war hero", it doesn't have to be a legit "war" as we think of it for someone to be an "eiyuu" Edit: just did some searching, I found an interesting way to rather translate Eiyuu, which in hindsight I think I could agree w/. Rather than "War Hero", you could translate it as "Champion", which is technically similar-y to "Hero" & "War Hero", but isn't strictly speaking tied to Justice nor to War stuff. So basically think of Champion as the subordinate of the Last Boss basically, plenty of Servants were either Last Boss tier but a huge chunk of em were underlings to others or solo types w/o any organizations, the latter should still fall under Champion based on locally done Feats alone tho

This was hilarious. Not enough Shirou slander.

Servants have (well not all, but plenty enough do, at least generic variants of like D or C or w/e grade) scan-type passives, which enable them to scan their opponents' data, such as their stats grades (for example, Artoria has her stats at either B or C (these are not class stats, but based on her own Renown & Lore etc as decreed by the collective consciousness that associates legends w/ legendary figures etc, whether they really happened or not is irrelevant obviously, w/ enough collective belief thinking they did, the Throne of Heroes treats it pretty much the same as Fact, more or less), and most of her personal skills are A or B. Mind you they are at meager B & C cuz Shirou is such a poopoo tier mage, so even if she could in theory go to A or higher, she can't due to his pissass mana capacity & generation (she literally can't even dissipate since he's so shit, when being able to stow away your vessel is literally the most common trait regardless of Servant type etc when used by even the shittiest of formally educated Mages that would normally be part of the Grail War)), so she knows the class more or less based on shit like her speed stat etc (Riders as the class implies, have one of the highest speed rating on avg, although some other classes rival them if the actual power scale difference between the individual figures are big enough of a gap to make the class stats buffs practically irrelevant). Honestly I kinda wish the anime adaptations did better job at explaining the actual stats mechanics etc that the system's class mechanics function under, cuz that's kinda a big part of who could potentially win a Grail War based on various factors of data like that, of course it inevitably comes down to Noble Phantasm cheesing of course, but that can make or break a winner if NPs are similar-ish enough in quality/capabilities during the final boogaloos between the last 3 or w/e Servants

I mean its for sure confusing regarding why the rider in this series is a rider as well as the false and true assassin stuff but dont worry just keep watching till you reach/finish Heaven's Feel.

CliffPL

Don't worry you aren't the only one questioning Rider's....Rider credentials. You'll question it even more when you learn her true identity. The rider class in fate is one of the ones that gets memed on the most because it seems like ANYONE can just be a rider lol
