Yeah true I forgot about my happy marriage but tbf I’m really loving to hate the family and the powers look really interesting and horimiya is very much more comedy this season and I’m really enjoying it but still the typical romance shows all really suck

2023-08-01 15:31:09 +0000 UTCThis one in particular feels like someone took the basic stereotypes and blueprints of what an anime romcom is thought to be and made an anime/manga out of it without any more thought put into it. The characters just act in a very predictable and sometimes unrealistic manner, especially considering this is supposed to be an office setting, not middle school or some shit. But I don't think all the romance anime this season are bad, I'm enjoying Horimiya a lot and My Happy Marriage is delivering hard in the more serious romance department. The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses is fairly basic as well but I'm enjoying it more than this one at least and I think it sort of succeeds in what it's trying to do, even if the MC can be sorta cringy (Important to remember it's supposed to be set in middle school so I can forgive things a lot easier than with My Tiny Senpai). Of course you can't expect bangers like Dangers in My Heart every season, that should be a given, but this isn't a bad season per se either imo.
