when looking futher into it its likely that the elves in this are tolkien style elves immortal in age but can still be killed

And assuming general Elven lifespans can range from 2-on the high end 10k years their time together is just a blip. Kind of like passing a stranger and having a conversation for a human. Or say we 100yr old on average. That would only be a year spent by percentage not a long time in the grand scheme

2023-09-30 10:33:16 +0000 UTCFrom the first 4 episodes so far, the "time skips" are really thoughtfully done, with corresponding montages that highlight some of the important and fun bits. The show doesn't really have much action shown yet, but the animation is still on-point. It's crazy how I'm enjoying it so much, even though we've only been shown mostly flashbacks of Frieren's life adventuring. Giving this show my best anime pick of the season as a placeholder. Can't wait to see other shows this season has to offer to see if anything else can manage to top this.

2023-09-30 07:30:36 +0000 UTCFlamme in German means "Flame" which I think is interesting since it's pretty much the opposite of Frieren = Freeze. I guess it makes sense that alot of the Backstory and what Frieren remembers is based on Himmel. Because he was the Hero/Leader of the Group. And what does a Leader do? Lead the Group, Keep the Group together, Push the Group towards the Goal etc. So he bonds together the Group and for that he has to know the People in his Group really well. So yeah after the 4 Episodes, again, I think Quality/Animation wise it's really good... but I don't know, it's not really hooking me. I think for me personally a issue I have is how monotone the Characters are. Like for example Mushoku Tensei, another Anime that has barely any action and is more based on World Building/Character Building etc. but for me the Characters are more likable I guess, because they are more lively and not so monotone. I think I still keep watching and see how it goes.

It's beautifully drawn and similar to the Anime has amazing montage panels that make it feel like time is passing while world building. Anime is doing a great job capturing it. We just wrapped the first book in the anime which is great for a day one release.
