koreans use the large clay pots (onggi) to make/store pretty much anything that needs fermenting; kimchi, gochujang, deonjang, soy sauce....there are a lot of weekend dramas (~50 eps) and dailies (~120) that feature families that traditionally use them. they are interesting to watch
