The RA 7 commences
Added 2024-11-07 01:11:19 +0000 UTCHey folks. I have tons of projects on my plate, but I'm sure it will surprise nobody that it's been taking all of my energy not to move forward with the RA Volume 7. Well, today I just needed a passion project to distract me, and I thought maybe some of you could use a pleasant diversion, too. I have 7 documents open from my google drive right now, but this was the one that spoke to me in my moment.
Ordinarily these sneak peek chapters are for the upper tiers, but I thought I'd extend it to the rest of you today, which is both my way of pointing out that if you're not used to these early release drafts be prepared for typos and less refinement, and also that I'm really grateful that whatever happens to the erotica industry in the days ahead, I value the hell out of your support. You may notice this is chapter 2; there is no chapter 1 as yet, but there will be. This was the one I knew I needed to write first.
More to come.

(I assume Spencer's brief sexual encounter was with Marcus. I hear he has the stamina of an Olympian god!) This was a nice chapter at a bad time, even if its arc of Good Things Are Going To Happen WAIT Everything Is Disgusting And I'm Angry In A Way I Can't Resolve is hitting a little close to home. I certainly appreciate getting to spend time in a world where biochemical conspiracies and deteriorating relationships are relatively cozy and hopeful, though. Please let me live in that world for just 16 pages right now, thanks. On its merits, though, this was still a really good chapter. The sexiness is minimal for an RA chapter (on average), but I like getting to see the scaffolding for this volume's storytelling. The only real concern I have as a reader for this series -- already well-known for its beauty and humor -- is how it doesn't just become a stakes-less fuckfest, and this chapter's suggestion of a) someone out there trying to get back at Spencer, and b) a version of Spencer that is maybe normalizing his own importance a little too much to retain his trademark humility and empathy are both concepts that create some original drama in the halls of Lakeview's smuttiest residence hall. (I don't know, maybe that's conjecture! I don't know how people are fucking in Penderdast!) I like Savannah and Spencer's chemistry, and I like it maybe a little more when they fuck it all up. This chapter gave me both, at a time I really needed it, and that's no small thing. Thanks so much for thinking of your readers like this!
