I know it's kinda late to comment here. But, I think Buyeon wasn't able to keep Mudeok from, running wild and do the killings because every time Jin Mu rings the bell it keeps on pulling Naksu's soul out from Buyeon's control. It's like next level Hydra hypnosis IYKWIM.

When she's acting as the servant Mu-deok in front of others, she is speaking with a country dialect (where Bu-yeon lived with the granny) and uses honorifics. But when she's speaking to Uk by herself as Naksu, she reverts to her natural speech (standard Korean) and speaks casually.
