To your point about how many people experience the horror of crimes throughout the justice system... My grandmother was a victim's advocate, mostly dealing with children, for the state prosecution's office for 30 years. The things she saw and the things the one's she were responsible for experience are truly horrific. There are so many people outside of the direct victims exposed to the trauma of violent crimes while justice is sought out.
