Light novel is indeed way superior to the anime. I have heard comments about people who started reading the novel after season 2 and consider the anime a huge disappointment (not even talking about the animation at all) and a missed opportunity to show us a great story.

We didn't need a bunch of wasted time in Yamato or the wannabe "slime" meetings. Their discussions aren't interesting enough to the viewer since the events already happened on screen. With slime you literally dont know what they are going to be discussing or planning for unless your a reader
