Which sucks, but you're hoping it'll pass quickly. Worst case you think it will take a few years, not knowing and even thinking it's gonna be this way for more than 70 years now. Not seeing your wife and kids for that long. Never seeing your parents anymore. If I remember correctly, a few years ago some families were reunited after 70 years because of some goodwill or something. I'd have to look into it again.

2025-01-01 13:33:50 +0000 UTCIn a nutshell (from my memory): Japan annexed Korea in the late 1800s/early 1900s (Mr. Sunshine is a popular drama set during this era). When Japan surrendered at the end of WWII (1945), the U.S. and what is now Russia split Korea into two, forcibly separating hundreds and hundreds of families. The Korean War (1950ish) then ended on a ceasefire but the two countries are technically still at war. I can't think of any recent dramas, but Welcome To Dongmakgol is a really wholesome but sad movie about this conflict.

About what you asked I didnβt recall a kdrama per ser that occurred during the division of Korea but one of the best kdramas that involved North and South Korea history with romance, action, friendship, some politics is Crash Landing on you which is AMAZING. Hope you can take a look at it.

It wasn't my first K-drama, but watching this one is what truly hooked me on K-dramas. It also made me a huge fan of Park Eun-bin, and Iβve since watched quite a few of her other works. Her performances are absolutely phenomenal in every drama she does!
