2025-01-17 00:31:44 +0000 UTCthe theory/explanation I've heard regarding the paramecia-like awakening ability to turn everything into rubber is from the fact that Luffy still thinks he is a Paramecia. Since his ability is based on his imagination, I thought he was imagining his awakening to be what a Paramecia awakening would be like (resulting in turning things other than his body into rubber). That is after all how he is able to create gears to begin with since he imagines himself being able to change his form in order to create them (and believes he can do it). What I'm curious about is if anything in his abilities would change if he ever finds out that he's actually a Mythical Zoan and not Paramecia.

Marco's give him fire abilities plus the transformation and Yamato's is ice abilities plus the Transformation. Luffy's is a Zoan/Paramecia hybrid that passively give his body paramecia-esq rubber qualities but with the Zoan transformation and endurance boost. Which explains his gears because he really shouldn't be able to do ANY of that gear shit with just a rubber fruit.

Remember that him & Shirahoshi are the same age, so it makes sense given how Joyboy apologized to the Poseidon 800 years ago, they probably respawn at around same-ish time. Hell the Sea Kings literally said that another one will be born far away (i.e East Blue, as we know), and they clearly know both of the individuals given how they talked about them, especially when Joyboy was the one to arrange for the hugeass colony ship Noah, which we can presume w/ 100% guarantee is meant to be pulled by Sea Kings controlled by Poseidon. Bro honestly can't believe GODa foreshadowed Nika since Skypeia arc. They literally showed the same noodly stick figure looking silhouette against sun even back then that Nika was shown in the visuals when Who's Who first brought him up this arc. It's not just any god. Generally there's only 2 types of top gods in most mythos, either the head mf is tied to the concept of the fucking SUN, or lightning/sky (basically same shit, since lightning comes from sky obviously) in general. There's usually no other types of head gods in most mythos AFAIK. Personally I'm still waiting for the other gods listed by Shandians in addition to the Sun God, such as the God of the Forest and God of the Rain IIRC. Yeah so basically you can only Awaken a DF as a Zoan-type if your personality matches your DF. If you fuck up your Awakening by being incompatible, you become like the 3 Zoan-type mfs in Impel Down, who did benefit from the buffed up regen from Awakening their DFs, but lost their minds to the Awakening due to not having the personalities that matched their respective Zoan DFs
