Which would you rather have?

Do you want reactions for Ubel Blatt or From Bureaucrat to Villainess?

Let me know your thoughts on Honey Lemon Soda, the other show I'm considering swapping out, down in the comments.

Comments

yeah lol we already know you'll probably not like the villainous one. Either the elf one or the okinawa one I think would be better if you drop.

Arkhon

You should swap out honey lemon soda for Welcome to Japan Ms Elf

Re:Zero is going to back in 3 weeks. Are you looking for a filler until then or a full rotation show? UB might have done better if it was adapted for Hi Dive. FBtV is of a genre that people love or hate with more on the hate side. If this anime season is a little lack luster, maybe you could look into something for one of your other channels to boost them.

i've watched 1 episode of From Bureaucrat to Villainess. For me, Hamefura is better than this anime for Otome Game genre

I hope you do more Reactions to Honey Lemon Soda

I think its an older show so it would need to win a Freshest Exclusive poll

JoeFreshest

I find it funny how villainess stuff always wins polls here despite you not liking them (other than mobseka). That being said, this one has started off great.

Honey Lemon Soda is cute and enjoyable enough that if it went away, I'd be sad. But, I wouldn't be sad enough to actually be mad. The Villainous show is actually very interesting. Has more going for it then Ubel Blatt does, in my opinion. Ubel Blatt is all edge and no real substance. The manga is slightly interesting, but that's it.

btw we should put bang dream in poll 8.2+on MAL, goated music show hardly anyone is watching like girls band cry

luis

ubel cause i don’t care about villainess shows, and i doubt joe will like it anyway.

So I often forget how slow shoujo romances start out. Honey Lemon Soda does grow as the characters start fleshing out and the Female Main Character begins to grow and change. It takes a little to get going but is a solid story overall for me.

The episodes so far of From Bureaucrat to Villainess have been great, its a great setup

Just watched the first episode of the "Red Ranger Isekai". Seems to be exactly what you expect, with the MC being a typical "red ranger" type of person, bit dense, bit heroic, always positive and "let's go team" kind of mentality. The reaction of the apparent female lead were entertaining, but I dislike how badly designed and uselessly gratuitous her outfit is. I think I'd prefer actual bikini armor à la Dragon Quest over what she's wearing here. It's not a bad show as it stands, but I don't see it ever going past a 6/10 at the highest. I would be interested in a reaction for "I Have a Crush at Work" though, heard great things about this series. Shame it apparently didn't get an official english distribution.

Haha then why even bother adapting that crap? That was basically the only thing the manga got going. I understood perfectly well why Ubel Blatt never had an adaptation before. The story was nothing new, the writing was very lazy and you couldn't go borderline with the sex scenes back then. So there was no point in wasting money on that project. So if they're gonna adapt it now in 2025, you would think that they'd have the greenlight on the gore and sex.

From Bureaucrat to Villainess is quite interesting - it features an Otaku dad who gets pulled into his daughter's otome game as the villainess. (The whole concept of an Otaku dad is crazy enough to merit a watching) There is more to the story, and the anime is much better than what I have seen of the manga.

Honey Lemon Soda is cute but it's nothing that I'd be sad about if it was replaced. I'd like it to be replaced by an other romance anime and I Have a Crush at Work is romance between adults and not high schoolers so it's a little different from almost all romance anime lol and I'm surprised your not already watching the villainess anime, we all know it's your favorite genre of anime

Brandon Bailey

Honey Lemon Soda works if the adaptation has spiced up a little with animations or added more angst in the background narrative. I Have a Crush at Work has a fun gig for the romance narrative in an adult relationship. The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World seems fun. The sentai MC is righteously brave and the fighting isn't top tier but serviceable. Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf has a quite appealing hook about culture exchange after the initial introduction. (Side note: I think that BanG Dream! Ave Mujica is a very, very emotional band drama to react for this season unlike its previous sub-series. It's like Girls Band Cry on top of My Happy Marriage for dramas. But you'll need to watch one prequel to learn the characters so it would be an automatic pass I suppose.)

Not gonna be superior w/ the amount of censoring they've already done in E1 lmao (no body gibs, not enough gore either, and they literally censored the sex scene w/ Altea & Köinzell)

I'm surprised Ubel Blatt even got an anime after all this time. Even 20 years ago it was pretty mediocre. It wanted to set itself apart by adding so much "spicy" stuff so you might look past the horrid writing. While it's not unheard of for an anime adaptation to be far superior than the manga, I wouldn't put my money on Ubel Blatt being IT. As for HLS, it just seems like your typical shoujo from the old teen angst years where the shoujo genre went out of control with copy pasting itself over and over again, like what Isekai has been doing for a while. If you like that stuff from decades ago, then by all means, this looks like it's exactly gonna be just that.

Brickland

I like HLS but I tend to like most romance genre plus although not to that extent, I can relate to the awkwardness of the heroine. However I can understand it may not be everyone's cup of tea especially if there's nothing too new about the storyline or characters. This is such a stacked season that if you're not feeling it, there's definitely other shows worth watching.

Kenise Harvey

Yea, I probably wouldn't rate it below 5/10 if I wanted to finish it, but after watching and reading many romance stories aimed at women, I'm extremely tired of it whenever it's taking itself seriously.

AlmaWade 1979

If you can find it. I have a crush at work. A more adult romance rather than HS

Bryce Jackson

I agree.. it's not like it's bad, it's just nothing special.

MechaZao

HLS to me seems like just another shoujo romance with the typical damsel MC and the typical jerk-that's-actually-nice-to-her-specifically love interest. Wanted to give it a chance based on the manga reviews, but I can't with how serious it's trying the be with the exact same character tropes like every other one in the genre. At least in shounens that are also often essentially the same there's funny stuff to be found, cuz the stories don't try hard to be serious about everything.
